BWH was the first to respond (within 5 minutes of Service Magic submission). The owner, Frans, quoted me a figure over the phone subject to possible additional charges due to "unusual" circumstances.
I picked BWH because it was Diamond Certified, good Better Business Bureau ratings and price.
A plumber came out to review the site and provide a final quote. The final quote was the same as the phone bid with no add-ons. The job was completed within the same day.
I was very satisfied with the job.

Better Water Heaters
Repair or Service a Water Heater in 95134
They came and fixed the heater the same day even though it was a saturday. The final price was higher than that quoted on the phone but they did replace the pipes and valves into the water heater. They also gave us a discount for paying in cash. They cleaned up nicely after they were done. No issues since the water heater has been replaced.
