I would recommend Critchfield Construction without reservation to anyone contemplating a remodeling / construction project. Further, I would encourage them to strongly consider the “design/build” method, as it definitely irons out a lot of problems before putting shovel to dirt… Ricky Critchfield and his team did a wonderful job building our home. The quality of construction is outstanding; including their carpentry and sub-contractors, and the work was completed ahead of schedule. We love the results.

Remodel a Kitchen in 95014

Work quality done by Critchfield's team is generally high. However, their subcontractor vary quite a bit in quality. We were VERY dissatisfied with the electrical subcontractor they used.

Ricky Critchfield is very responsive, but most of his team rarely returns phone calls or follows up. I had to hound them.

Update: Dec 2007
I have spoken with Ricky and he has told me that he no longer uses the subcontractors we were dissatisfied with (such as the electrician). He also has been improving responsiveness as well.

Overall, Ricky is a very hardworking, honest, and knowledgeable contractor. We would (and have) recommended him to other people.
