Both men were very courteous and explained what they were doing and why. I had ordered two flues to be cleaned but they cleaned one flue only, as the other didn't require it. I knew that the chimney needed some repairs too and wanted to know if it is safe to use. It is, but they said that I needed to have repairs done in the spring, as it is now too cold to use morter. Another person will come and look it over and give that estimate; it is an old house with an old chimney so will definitely be expensive, but I find them honest and feel comfortable. I will follow up later with more info.
